Tazones was our first "Pueblo Project". It is a small sea-side town in Asturias, just a short drive from Gijon. It is the home of just 300 people, so we spent the morning going door-to-door leaving the "Sobres de Esperanza" (Envelopes of Hope).
Each resident of Tazones received a gospel tract, giving them maybe their first real explanation of the gospel and of the salvation that can be obtained only in Jesus Christ. Also, they received a letter offering Bible correspondence courses or Bible studies in their home.

Although it is such a small town, there stands in the center a Roman Catholic church. Still the mindset and lifestyle of "having fun while you can" is prevelant in the people.
Below is a picture of a sign that hung on one of the houses. Translated it says, "Enjoy life while you are alive because you are going to be dead a very long time". If only they would realize that our life here is but a vapor and that the value should be placed on eternity!
