SUMMER OF BLESSINGS
ANSWERS TO PRAYER. . . .
- MBC YOUTH MISSIONS TRIP: Thank you to all who prayed for God’s blessings during the Madison Baptist Youth Missions trip in June. The Lord gave us a great time, great weather, and a great group that came ready to work. With their help we passed out 10,000 envelopes which each contained an invitation to the church and Bible studies, a gospel tract, invitation to that special Sunday service, and an invitation to the summer Bible school. All of those were passed out in about a 3 km radius surrounding the church. That week an older woman came to the church because she had received one of the envelopes; she couldn’t read it, but yet wanted to know what it said. Praise God she bowed her head and prayed to accept Christ as her Savior! Then that Sunday, after the MBC team had passed out an additional 10,000 special service invitations in the streets, Jose Antonio and his saved friend came to the evening service. That night Jose Antonio bowed his head and accepted Christ as his Savior! Then 3 weeks after the MBC team left a woman named Clemeide, who had received one of the envelopes in her mailbox, came for a Wed. evening service, and before the service had even begun, she prayed and accepted Christ as her Savior!
- VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL: Thank you also for your prayers for the VBS we had the last week of June. In the past many young people have come to the Friday Bible Clubs, but had stopped coming because their parents no longer permitted them. Praise God we did have 2 young boys beside our girls and the Contreras boys. Alex and Miguel came and both heard again a clear presentation of the gospel.
- PUEBLO PROJECTS: We continued with the pueblo project in Colunga and in Cangas de Onis. From Colunga we have received our first request for a correspondence Bible study. Also, we have a contact from a woman in Cangas de Onis, made through one of our ladies from the MBC missions trip when we had stopped in Cangas. Pray for Mildred’s salvation and that she will continue in the Bible studies. If you would like to be directly involved in this ministry, you can give a one time offering to “Pueblo Project” that would help with Bible Study material, and for the printing of the tracts and info that we include in the letters that we pass out
NEWS. . . . I start back into my Spanish classes this fall there at the local university. This summer I was able to take some intensive classes in Madrid which helped me greatly, but it seems the more that I learn, the more I realize how much I still have yet to learn.
INSIGHT & PRAYER. . . .Please be in prayer for the ones who have accepted Christ that they may grow in Him and be faithful to the church. Also, for the seeds that have been sown. Ten thousand homes surrounding the church received a gospel tract as well as other information (thousands of tracts were passed out while the group was here as well). Many have stopped and thought about God, heaven, and their eternity—maybe for the first time in a long time—so pray that God’s Word may continue to work on hearts.
Also, be in prayer for the 2 contacts from the pueblo projects, that we might see salvations from this ministry and that the Lord would continue to open doors.
Sometimes we feel as if we are just tossing pebbles at a great wall that is not ready to fall. We know that with God all things are possible so please pray that God will break down that wall! Prayer is the answer!!!
Pray also for US dollar to strengthen in relation to world currencies. I know of missionaries in Brazil, South Africa, and Europe that have lost about 40% of their support because of the drop of the US dollar in the last 5 years. Just to give you an idea, if you exchange $3,000 into euros you would get €2,158.
