Saturday, 28 August 2010

We are finallly back in the United States. The trip has been perfect. We haven't had any problems. Praise the Lord for His goodness and for everyone that prayed for us.

Tuesday we drove back from Sevilla to Madrid. We spent Tuesday morning visiting a little more of the city. We got some souveniers for our display board. Than we drove five hours to Madrid and picked up Aaron Mcnully at the train station. That night we got to experience something very Spanish...a soccer game. We went to the legendary Santiago Bernabeu stadium to watch the last preseason game. On wednesday Bro. Jonathan Lyons drove the entire group to Toledo. Toledo is a very historic city. There are many sites to see. We had the opportunity to visit the Inquisition Museum. Its incredible how much our brothers in Christ suffered during those days. We have no reason to complaint today. We have the liberty to preach the gospel, yet we still manage to make excuses. God help us! That night we attended El Faro Baptist Church in Alcala de Henares, Spain. Thisi is the church where the Puente's got saved. On thursday we had the opportunity to visit Madrid in the morning. It is awesome to see how many people live in that city. Even though there are some churches in the area we still need more laborers. At night we attended Azuqueca Baptist Church. Francisco had the opportunity to preach during the service.

This trip has been a great experience to all of us. God has spoken to us in many different ways through this trip. Spaniards are still very hard to the gospel, but we trust that God will soften hearts. Thank you again for praying for us during this trip.

Wow! We are having a very busy time here in Spain! Unfortunately I haven't had internet access as I thought I would, but I am writing updates every time I have an opportunity. Today is early early Tuesday morning. We just got back from surveying the entire city. It is around two in the morning. We got here this afternoon and began going around the city looking at different areas where there is a possibility of planting a church in the near future. We visited the areas of the Republic of Argentina Avenue, Nervion, Macarena, Cartuja, etc...I'm not sure how much walking we did, but we are wore out. We will extremally surprise at the number of Americans that live in Sevilla. In the University of Sevilla along there are eight hundred Americans. It is still amazing to see that there is no Indepedent Baptist church in an area of over a million people. We will be leaving tomorrow morning to head back to Madrid.

Yesterday we had a good time visiting different churches. We spent the morning with Bro Julio Velasquez and Bro Jeff Andrews. It was amazing to see a full church after just a couple of months of holding services in their building. We also had a wonderful time of fellowship after church at their house. It was an encouraging time for us. We also got to spend the evening with Bro Jonathan Lyons at Azuqueca Baptist Church. Alberto had an opportunity to preach and we also spend a good time of fellowship at their house. We actually a wonderful surprise in the evening service, some of Francisco and Alberto's family came to church at night. It was quite a blessing.

Saturday we spend a day out with our family in Madrid. It was the first time we were able to see them since we got into Spain. We got to eat really good food! and finally on Friday we got to drive back from Barcelona. I think we have driven more during this trip than we do during deputation. But it is all well worth it. Keep praying for us as we continue to drive around Spain. Today God has given us some clear guidance and we pray that He will continue opening doors.

Day 3 and 4 PDF Print E-mail

Day three and four have been great! We spent day three in Andorra. Andorra is such a beautiful country. The mountain range is enormous. There were still little patches of snow left over. We were able to visit every major city of Andorra. The sad part about this country is that there is no known gospel witness there. Bro. Aaron Mcnully is very excited to begin a church there. It is amazing that there is a total of eighty thousand people and yet there is no one there preaching the gospel.

Day four we were able to drive to Barcelona. We spent the afternoon visiting some of the most important touristic sites of Barcelona. In the evening we came to a church in a suburb of Barcelona called Castellbisbal. Bro Pinyol is the pastor of this church. Alberto was able to preach and Aaron Mcnully will have his opportunity to preach on Sunday.  We had a wonderful fellowship with the church and got to meet a lot of new people of the church. Please pray for us tomorrow as we drive to Madrid. We look forward to having some opportunities to preach the gospel to some of our famiily members.

Dear praying friends,

It is a joy to finally write you from Andorra. I will have to write about the first two days of our trip in this first post. Our flight from Atlanta to Madrid went great. We did not have any complications with our flight and made it in on time to Madrid. We spent four hours in Madrid trying to exchange some money, eat breakfast, and pack for Andorra. At around three in the afternoon we left Madrid for Andorra. The car ride was a little difficult for everyone due to our jet lag, but thank God we made it in to Andorra at around 11:30 pm. Please pray for us tomorrow. Bro Aaron Mcnully is going to try to get some questions answered about housing and we will continue surveying this beautiful country. Pray for my parents as they are in Madrid. We pray that God would use them to testify to our lost family members. Thank you for your prayers.

Introduction PDF Print E-mail
Saturday, 31 July 2010

God has given us the opportunity to make a quick trip to Spain and Andorra from August 16th through August 27th. We have a couple of reasons why we are making this trip:

1)  For some time we (Francisco and Alberto) have been talking about taking a trip to Sevilla. We want to get more information about the cityitself and also be able to narrow down the location where God would have us to go. Francisco has never visited Sevilla before, so this will be a good opporutnity for him to get to know the city in person. We are praying that by September of 2011 God will allow both of our families toarrive in Sevilla and start a brand new church.

2) For the past six months we have been praying and talking with another fellow missionary about unreached countries in Europe. This missionaries name is Aaron Mcnully. He is also out of Madison Baptist Church. We began to pray specifically about Andorra. Andorra is a small country located between France and Spain. It has a population of eighty thousand people and as far as we know there is no gospel witness. After all three of us began praying for laborers, God called Bro. Aaron to Andorra. Now he wants to survey this country. We will be taking him up to Andorra for two days and leaving him with a fellow missionary in Barcelona so he can finish his survey trip. Brian Williams. will also join us onthis trip. He was our roomate in BIble college.

Through this page on our website I'm hoping that you will be able to have a daily update on our survey trip. i will try to add as many pictures and comments as possible as the trip goes on. This will also bea great tool for all of you to pray for us as we travel. Come back on August 16th as we begin this trip.

We ask you to pray for the following prayer requests during this trip.

  • Safety during the trip.
  • Aaron Mc. will be able to have all answers concerning housing, learinng language, etc...
  • Francisco and Alberto to be able to get guidance as to where they need to begin new church.
