PRAYER LETTER-STARK-OCT 09 |

Dear Supporting Churches and Praying Friends:
Hebrews 10:25, "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."
NEWS:
· We praise God for many visitors during the months of August and September. The Lord seems to have given us a special ministry to the college students that are here for a short time. Many have shared with us the difficulty of being away from their family and home church and on a continent that has completely lost it´s shame. Being a true follower of Christ in Europe puts you in a very small minority! Many of the students have mentioned what a blessing it has been for them to have a good church to attend where they can sing praises to God, hear Bible preaching, and have some Christian fellowship. We have also been greatly blessed by these students as we have met many young people that are excited about serving God wherever they are. Some have played the piano for us, helped us prepare evangelistic materials, and have gone visiting with us! God has allowed us to minister to students from TX, VA, OH, Brazil, Germany, England, and France.
· A special project that we want to try in the next months is a DVD that we want to pass out. Some missionary friends have produced a short DVD called, ‘The man in the hole’, and they are making it available to other missionaries. If you would like to view the video, it is available http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mUPxDmgYwY. The cost of DVD´s in Spain is about 4 times that in the US. It will cost us about $500 to produce 1000 quality DVD´s with sleeves. On top of that, we would have to pay to get those DVD´s shipped here to Spain. PRAISES:
· Kayla, Nicole, and Noelia have all started back to school and are doing GREAT! This is little Noelia´s first time away from mommy, and while other children had to be dragged in crying, Noelia was skipping around the room so happy to now be big enough to go to ‘cole’ (colegio=school) and to make many ‘migos’ and ‘migas’ (amigo=friend)
PRAYER REQUESTS:
· Pilar has had a problem with headaches, caused by knots in her neck and back, for years now. This last month has been especially hard for her though. Please pray that she can get some long-term relief from the pain.
· On top of the world-wide financial crisis that is affecting so many, the US dollar has been dropping again in comparison with the Euro. In the last 6 months the conversion rate has gone from $1,27—1€ to $1,45—1€. That $0,18 difference leaves us with 500€ or $725 less per month (assuming that our supporting churches are able to keep giving the same amount each month). Please pray for the US dollar to regain a stronger position.
· Pray for the hearts of Spaniards to be more open to the Word of God. I believe that most Spaniards are like those that we find in Zechariah 7:11-12—they have refused to listen, pulled away their shoulders, put their hands over their ears, and have made their hearts as an adamant stone lest they should hear the law and the words of the Lord. Pray for soft hearts willing to accept the seeds of the gospel that we are sowing!
