Dear Praying and Supporting Brethren,

It is hard to believe how fast time goes by.  I still remember January 31st of 2009.   It was my last day at my secular job and we were beginning full time deputation, not knowing what was ahead, but knowing that God was in control.  And now here we are a year and about five months later into our full time deputation.  It has truly been a blessing and a challenge to travel and raise support for what God has for us in Spain.  We are grateful for every church that has opened its doors to us to hear about the need in Spain.  God has been good every step of the way.

In the month of May we had three new churches partner with us! My wife and I are excited to see our support increase to about 51%. We are so grateful that God is bringing the increase that we need, and also to every single church that supports us financially and by prayer.  I don’t take for granted the sacrifice that each and every one of you has made for us.

The rest of the year looks pretty busy.  There are some spots I would like to schedule, but I certainly feel very blessed as I look at the churches that have opened the door for us to come throughout the rest of the year. I have even been able to schedule close to 20 meetings for the first half of 2011!  Praise the Lord for this.  Our heart’s desire is to be in Spain in 2011.  Pray that God will open the door to be there as soon as possible.

As most of you know the economic situation in Europe and especially in Spain has been very fragile.  Unemployment has reached close to 20% in Spain and the Euro has dropped as low as  $1.21 which is about the lowest in the past four years.  I have even read predictions that estimate the Euro to come equal to the Dollar by 2011.  I believe The Holy Spirit can use this time of need to soften Spaniard’s hearts.   Many Spaniards see themselves as self-sufficient.  We certainly don’t want anyone to go without but we pray that uncertain times will cause people not to look within for help but look for the help that comes from above.
