PUENTE'S PRAYER LETTER- JULY08 |

We are the Puente family; writing you to share the burden that God has placed in our hearts for the country of Spain. We are members of Madison Baptist Church; where God has given us the privilege to serve Him. We are involved in ministries such as the soul-winning ministry, the children's ministry and recently in the singles and youth ministry.
In May of this year I graduated from Bible College with a degree in Theology. God has given us the commandment to go to Spain to establish new churches. The Lord has placed a deep sense of urgency in our hearts, each day many Spaniards die without Christ. God's will for our lives is that we go now. We will not be visiting churches through deputation to raise financial support. God has called us to go in faith trusting that he will provide me with a job to support our family( I am a Spanish national so I can legally work there), and that He will also supply other necessary funds for the work of the ministry. In July we will travel to Spain to unite with the Matthew Stark family to start a church in the city of Granada. The Starks have been in Spain for a year and a half helping another missionary family in the city of Gijon. God has worked in a special way to bring our families together for the work of the ministry. While the Stark family was praying about a new location to establish a church, God was working in our family to go to Spain and start new churches. When I told Bro. Stark about my plans, he mentioned that he had been praying for several cities, one of those being Granada. For some reason God placed in my heart a great interest in that city. I began researching and found out that Granada has a population of 238,000 in the city and 472,000 in the metro area. It is a city greatly influenced by Islam because the Muslims inhabited it for 400 years. Granada also has one of the most prestigious universities in Spain, with over 80,000 students. The more that I researched about this area, God showed me and confirmed in my heart that was where we needed to go.
We are very excited about this new work. Although Spain is a very hard field, we know God can work wonders. We need your prayers; without the power of the Holy Spirit within us we cannot accomplish anything. Please add our family to your prayer list, that God will prepare and soften the hearts of the Spanish people , as well as provide our needs.
