Dear Pastor & Church,
Philippians 3:7- But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. The apostle Paul shows an incredible statement of surrender to the Lord in this verse. Is this you attitude about Christ and spiritual things? This verse challenges and helps me to move forward to do the Lord’s will. Sometimes it may seem like I am giving up something great to serve the Lord. We think of our family, this country, the comforts of familiartity, people, and things we love and will have to leave once we depart for the field. But the truth is that the Lord Himself, and the cause of Christ is greater than whatever we may be giving up. I want the Lord to give me that same heart that Paul had about serving his Lord.
We are thrilled thrilled about 2011. Praise the Lord we have already seen people saved while on deputation! I was making a hospital visit with my father, and on the way out of the hospital, we were able to see a lady ask Christ to save her. Also, while out door knocking one Saturday, I was able to see a teen boy ask Christ to save Him as well. God is still saving in 2011! What a privilege to spread the Gospel of Christ!
We are also thrilled to see God raise our support to around 73%. I asked the Lord to allow us to reach the 70% mark by the end of the year. And by January we were blessed with more than that. I want to praise Him publicly for how He is providing! The Lord keeps supplying every single one of our needs and keeps blessing us with more support through new churches. We thank the Lord for the new churches and the ones that have been supporting us through prayer and support. I know it is a great sacrifice through tough times. Please keep praying as we continue seeking wisdom form God in regards to when we should depart for the field. Our heart’s desire is to leave by the fall time, be we want God’s perfect timing.
During on of the Mission’s Conferences we were recently in, we were challenged by a speaker preaching on Matthew 9: 37 & 38. Specifically verse 38- Pray ye therefore the lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. Can I encourage you to pray for the individual countries in this world that the Lord will send more labourers. The need is great and the hour is late. Let’s do our best to get the Gospel to every creature!
God bless you,
Francisco & Rebekah Puente
