The CONTRERAS FAMILY,
Baptist Church Planting Missionaries testifying the
Gospel "2" Gijón, SPAIN

"To testify the Gospel of the grace of God." Acts20:27

Update October - November 2008

Once again we take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your prayers and giving so that Christ can be preached in Gijón, Spain, for souls to be saved and lives changed.  We praise the Lord for your time in prayer for your missionaries, and for your investment for God´s eternal kingdom (Matthew 6).

Serving as a Family. While we have always done ministry work as a family, involving our boys as much as possible, it has been a special blessing to see how God lays things on their hearts and how they desire to serve Him.  When we first arrived back from furlough, Isaiah expressed his desire to help by leading the music.  He did for the first time earlier this month!  Once a month now, we will let all three of them take turns in song-leading for our evening service.  Michael has been inviting his karate friends to church, and Andrew has begun singing alto or tenor for music specials.  Keep praying that our boys will always be sensitive and submitted to God´s direction in their lives.

Seeking the Lost. Pray that the Holy Spirit will convict the hearts of unsaved people to be truly broken over sin and to embrace by faith God´s provision for salvation.  We have resumed distribution of letter invitations and tracts in mailboxes and on the streets.  The Mariners´ ´08-09 football preseason practices have started as well.  Coach asked Joseph to commence the season with a Bible devotional and prayer, in which he shared once again the Gospel.  Read more...
