Dear Pastor/Missions Director
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Thank you for your commitment to the GREAT COMMISSION, and your faithful support to the Matt Stark family.
If you have already read Bro. Stark's letter you know that he will not be returning to the mission field of Spain after he returns home at the end of this month. I know that Matt has prayed long and hard about this decision, and has given himself to seasons of fasting and praying. He has counseled with me about it. My desire for each of our missionaries is that they stay in the very center of the will of God, whatever that may mean for their lives.
Matt and I both believe in being up front with supporting churches about decisions like this. After all, who hasn't been burned by some missionary coming home "for furlough," when they know from the beginning that they would not be returning to the field? We find that kind of behavior deplorable. Therefore, we are letting you know before the Starks even return home about the decision they believe is God's will for their lives.
Thank you for your faithfulness and intercession for them. If you have any questions that you would like to ask me about them, feel free to call me at the church (256-830-6224) or my cell (256-503-3603). Any checks sent in after January 1, for the Starks, will be returned to you.
Also, in case you would still like to be represented in Spain by good local church missionaries, we have three families presently raising support to go there: Pedro Torres, Alberto Puente, Jr., and Francisco Puente. All three are members of Madison Baptist Church, and all three already are Spanish citizens (this avoids a lot of paper work and hassle). The Torres family are scheduled to return to Spain this coming summer. If you would like to contact any of these families, just call the Church and we will put you in touch with them.
Thank you again for your love for souls.
Sincerely
Mike Allison, Pastor
