The Word of God

Colossians 1:28 - "Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:"

Prayer Requests

Please pray for Pilar's Dad, his name is Francisco. He still has not accepted Christ as His Lord and Saviour and we pray that the Lord will soften his heart before it is too late.

The Lord blessed and allowed us to make a trip to Spain in December. The purpose of the trip was to visit Santander again and to spend Christmas with Pilar's family. Pilar's dad, Francisco, came to the church with us the first Sunday and heard again a clear presentation of the Gospel. Continue to pray that God will soften Francisco's heart.

God granted a special opportunity to Pilar to share our beliefs with her sister Encarni (Right--Belen, Encarni, Pilar). Encarni is religious, traditionally Catholic, but has made it clear that we are not to speak of our faith in her home. The Lord opened the door though, and Pilar was able to explain our stand on the Bible as man's only answer and guide from God. Encarni is in the same position I believe most Spaniards are today.

She won't trust the priest, because of hypocrisy in the church, but yet has a firm belief in heaven, eternity, and God. Spaniards are ready for something different and we have the answer, not in another "religion" which they don't need or desire, but in the precious Word of God which makes clear that Jesus is the only way!! Pray that God will continue to work in Encarni's heart and that soon she will be saved! Also, pray that God will open doors that we can get to the point to explain what Christ has done for them according to the Bible.
Colossians 4:6 -- "Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ. . . . "

God also gave us an insight into the teachings of Catholicism in Spain when we were able to speak with a priest outside the cathedral in Santander. To him the Bible was a Book of stories that could not be taken literally, salvation for a catholic was obtained by keeping the 7 sacraments, and salvation could also be obtained for non-Catholics by keeping the natural laws of man. He stated that hell wasn't as the Bible teaches and that heaven is being with the "loved One". It is sad to think that he is the leader of the people and teaching such incorrect doctrine.

The field is open with city after city having no Gospel witness!! Matthew 9:38 -- "Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest."
