We praise God for His wisdom, direction, and faithfulness!  We are excited about this next step and look forward to getting to Granada in July. Granada is a city of 238.000 which doubles to 472.000 counting its metropolitan area.  The surrounding cities such as Armilla, Huetor Vega, Churriana, Maracena are known as "dormitory cities" since their inhabitants travel to work in Granada on a daily basis.  Granada is also home to one of the largest universities in Spain with 60.000 students in the Granada campus alone.

From what we have been able to find, there is 1 baptist church and 1 evangelical church located in this area that is home to 472.000. Obviously there is much, much to be done and we are excited about what God has planned for us there.  God's timing is always perfect and we praise God for the help that He is sending in Alberto and Ashley Puente.  Alberto is Pilar´s nephew and he has grown up directly seeing the work of missions as his father is the spanish pastor at our home church, Madison Baptist.  Both Alberto and Ashley have been able to work very much in the spanish work there; through visitation, children´s ministry, and ,most recently, taking charge of the singles ministry.  They will be arriving on 18 July and we know that it will be a blessing to form a team with them in the ministry.  Keep them in your prayers as he has an interview the week after they arrive and they have just found out that Ashley is due with their first baby on 31 Dec.
The Lord has blessed with many visitors in the last weeks.  Jose Manuel and Agustina have started to  come faithfully in the last few weeks. He is a spaniard and she is from portugal. The added blessing is that he used to pastor a church here in Spain, so we believe it will be an added blessing to the Contreras when they come back. Recently they even gave to purchase some pillows for the chairs in the church!. They also have brought some visitors along like Monica, Jenny, Vasile and Dorina. The last two ones have been coming back the last two weeks.

Susana has also started coming to the church. She is originaly from Argentina, but has been in Spain for the last 15 years or so. She heard of the church and started coming a couple of months ago, and has been coming faithfuly every Sunday morning since. Pray for her, she has an degenerative illness that keeps her in a lot of pain. Also pray for her children, Eduardo, Florencia and Matias, she told us that they had made a proffession of faith many years ago, but now are away from God.

On Friday, the ladies have their weekly ladies meeting. They used to have an average of 9 ladies every week, but a couple of months ago, most of them found new jobs and were not able to be off on Friday mornings. Pilar has been able to keep meeting with some of them in different times, but we were praying that they number of the ladies in the ladies meetings would increase. This last Friday Pilar had 3 new visitors. Susana started coming and also, two new ladies came to the meeting for first time. Isis and Ado are from Venezuela. Isis arrived in Spain 10 days ago and started looking for a church. Praise the Lord, He brought her to our church. She has a great love for Jesus and realizes the need in Spain. Her sister Ado grew up in church but about 10 years ago she stopped attending to church. About 3 years ago she fell in a great deppression that is still with her. We know that God is the only one that can do a mighty work in her. Pray that she would allow Him to.
