Dear supporting churches and praying friends :
He is worthy!!
Psalm 18:1-3—“I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.” He is worthy!
Not only in this time of Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday, but in each and every day He is worthy to be praised! He continually shows Himself to be our Rock, our Fortress, our Deliverer, our God, our Strength, our Buckler, our Salvation, and our high Tower. This is more a praise letter than a prayer letter, but when we see God answer our prayers, His praise should be shouted from the rooftops! He is worthy!!
During Oct/Nov, we drove over 10,000 miles from Florida to Ohio to Iowa to Virginia. During one week in Oct, we were in 3 different conferences in 3 different states. Praise God for His protection! Twice during November we had brake problems, but the Lord continued to keep us safe on the roads.
On Oct. 16th, Pilar and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary! It is an amazing story how the Lord first put us together and is now taking us back across the ocean to serve Him in Spain. I am so thankful to have such a wife that is a constant help and encouragement in the ministry. In Oct, the Lord also answered our prayer request for another missionary family for the work in Spain. God moved in the hearts of Jeffrey and Deanna Andrews, and we will now be working together in Spain. Deanna’s father was Pilar’s pastor when they served in Spain 15-20 years ago, and we are excited about being able to work with another young couple after our time with the Contreras in Gijon.
Also, if you haven’t received the emails yet, we now have a webpage: www.SpainforChrist.com. Jeffrey Andrews did an outstanding job of building it for us, and we hope to use it in keeping our churches in the States up-to-date on the work in Spain. Our email addresses have also changed, you can reach us at

We have email addresses for most of our supporting churches, but if you don’t already receive updates from us and would like to, please send us an email and will gladly add you to our mailing list. Also in November, we closed on our house. God has opened doors and we have moved most of our household to Douglasville, GA; but friends have also opened their homes in Madison, AL and we have offers from many other brothers and sisters in Christ in other states. Anytime we begin to wonder just what God is doing, He always provides above and beyond our expectations.
Finally, I close with a praise on our support level. As of the end of Nov. we are now receiving 83%!! We are very thankful for how the Lord has provided; please continue to pray with us that the rest will come in soon and that we may be able to leave for the field in the early part of 2007.
Note: With all of the moving and schedule of the last few months, we have become aware that some were left off of last month’s prayer letter. We are on a bi-monthly schedule, if at any time you do not receive our prayer letters, please call or write so we can be sure that no one is left off of the list.
Your co-laborers in Christ’s service,
Matthew, Pilar and girls |
