THE GOODNESS OF GOD!!

1 Cor. 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

How do I began to explain what God has done in the last weeks here in Gijón! On 5 June a group from our home church, Madison Baptist Church, came to Spain on a missions trip. Youth pastor Wally Bryant brought his family; our Hispanic church pastor, Alberto Puente and family; and 16 others to see Spain and help us in the work here.

After spending about 10 hours on the plane and 6 in the van up to Gijón, they went right to work on finishing to stuff the remaining 5000 envelopes that we passed out the next days. The envelopes contained the same information that we use for the pueblo projects—just imagine that in 2 days 10,000 homes around our church received a letter of introduction/invitation, gospel tract, invitation to the special service on 10 June, and an invitation to the Vacation Bible School that we will have the end of June. We passed those out in the mornings and then in the evenings we hit the streets to pass out tracts and another 10,000 invitations for the special service that Sunday the 10th.

On Saturday the 9^th, we played some flag football with the Mariners football team. The Gijón Mariners are a tackle football team on which missionary Joseph Contreras plays. The Lord has opened up a door with these young men and he has been able to give devotionals to them on a regular basis. Pastor Alberto brought a great challenge before we started playing and then we were able to speak one-on-one with many of them throughout the morning.

On Sunday the 10th, Gisela and Jose Antonio came for the services. When the invitation was given Jose Antonio put his faith in Jesus Christ alone for his salvation. A man who just that morning was on the wide road to hell, now has his name written down in the Lamb’s Book of Life!!! Praise God!!! Gisela gave testimony of already being saved, and glory to God, she was back for Wednesday service and they both were back the following Sunday. Please pray as we seek to disciple these two in the Word of God.

On Monday the 11^th, we visited Santander (the city where we would like to begin a church) and passed out another 2000 tracts there.

We were also able to visit the church in Oviedo (about 30 kilometers from Gijón) and Pastor Buker gave us a great tour of the city. Then for the last day we were able to minister in the church in Azuqueca where Pastor Jonathan Lyons is located. We praise God for the friendship and help of the church in Azuqueca as they were a great blessing to us.

Praise God for all of the seed that was sown in the last weeks; only He knows when and how we will see fruit from it!
