The Word of God

Colossians 1:28 - "Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:"

Prayer Requests

Pray that the dollar may get stronger against the euro. This situation is affecting a lot of missionaries and works here in Spain

Pueblo #2 was Colunga. It is a beautiful little town of about 4500 people just east of Gijon. We prepared 1000 "sobres de esperanza" for the town and spent the morning filling mailboxes with the gospel. We praise the Lord for the help of Nate Staples and Arancha Morera, whom will be helping us in the work this summer.

As you walk through this city, you will find the catholic church in the center of town. It is for the most part empty, as the attitudes of most Spaniards are turning them away from catholicism and religion as a whole. But on this day we faced a different kind of challenge: the Jehovah Witnesses were out in numbers door-knocking as well. Yet even though they do not offer words of truth (Holy Bible alone), they are very active here in the north.

I am reminded of a story a missionary told while we were on deputation. He shared that while on his survey trip to Peru, he was sitting in the airport with about 12-15 American mormon missionaries also going to Peru. They really weren't interested in learning the language well or in fitting into the culture (they only have to fulfill their 2 years of service), but as he witnessed to one of them they asked him "How much can your church (Baptist) really believe what you say when there are 12 of us here going to Peru and only 1 of you?"

What a job that lies before us, do you really believe that the Bible alone has the truth for salvation? Do you really believe that Jesus Christ is the ONLY way? Then what about the thousands of other cities across Spain, just like Colunga, that have no gospel preaching church or missionary!! Don't they deserve the same chance to hear as your son/daughter or father/mother?

Check the photos from the Colunga trip under the "Ministry" heading!
